About Chanko cuisine
Chanko is a meat and vegetables stew served in a large pot. As it is originally offered at training gyms for sumo wrestlers, chanko is served in large portions. A little smaller version for those not as big as sumo wrestlers, is increasingly becoming popular, especially though counterintuitive, among young women. Today you can try chanko cuisine at fashionable and modern restaurants opened by ex-sumo champion restaurateurs.

About Omote-sando station
Omote-sando means a Broadway leading to a temple, where the temple in this case refers to Meiji Jingu Shrine. Located at the West of Central Tokyo, Omote-sando today is the home of top international designer's brand shops. Harajuku the Mecca of psychedelic fashion, is in walking distance, adding a sharp contrast to the high-fashion on Omotesando Avenue. There are many European restaurants in the area.
