How to use taxi in Japan
Taxis in Japan are clean and safe and drivers are polite and wear chauffeur-like uniform.
The minimum fare (a mile+ or 2 km) is around 600 yen, which is cheaper than in Western countries. If traveling further, you would pay about the same as in Germany and UK, or over 30% more compared to the US and France.
The unique feature of Japanese taxis is that the door opens and closes automatically. For safety reasons, you should leave it to the driver.
