Shiretoko

Peninsula in Hokkaido with untouched forest and wild life

Shiretoko Peninsula is at the tip of Hokkaido Island in the North of Japan. The area is covered by forests largely untouched by human intervention. Acknowledged to be a World Heritage site in July 2005.
